Where the magic happens! This is one side of my sewing room.
This shot shows my machine and the rest of my work area. Gran's old sewing machine sits right beside mine.

Carrying on my Gran's legacy through quilting

My grandmother, who I called Gran, was very dear to me. She was a very accomplished quilter - doing all the piecing and quilting by hand for dozens of quilts. A few years ago I tried my hand at making quilts (machine pieced and quilted, I have limited patience!) I was immediately hooked on the experience.

I'm so happy that I was able to share Gran's love of quilting with her before she passed. I loved to consult her about design choices or send her pictures of my latest quilt. She was always my biggest cheerleader. She went to be with Jesus in August of 2018, but I like to think that I honor her by carrying on her hobby into the next generation.
